Halloween Mini-cards

I made fun Halloween mini-cards!

This card has a peek-a-boo window, and a cute spider is waiting behind the window.

This is a shaker card. I love the floating felt ghost.

And the pumpkin has a paper spring on the back of the pumpkin, so it jumps out.

Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant, DSP Witches' Brew
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Peekaboo Frames Bigz L Die, Die-namics Spooky Scene, Die-namics Halloween Charms, Sequins (Halloween Mix, Black), Felt (white), Mini Glue Dots, Dimentionals

PP268: A Sketch Challenge

I can't believe I missed the entry deadline! This post was in my draft for a few days. I'll post this anyway...

*******************************************************************************
This week's Paper Players' challenge is a sketch challenge from LeAnn. There are fun and nice elements in the card.
Here's my card:

I've wanted to use embossed vellum for a baby card, so this was a perfect opportunity. I liked the combination of the pattern (elegant dots) and the softness the vellum gives off.

Stamp: Something for Baby, Itty Bitty Banners
Paper: Soft Sky, Whisper White, So Saffron, Vellum
Ink: Pistachio Pudding, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Embossing Folder (Elegant Dots), Baby's First Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Boho Blossoms Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Large Pearl Basic Jewels, Mini Glue Dots, Dimentionals

RIC#94

The Runway Inspired Challenge #94 features a Houghton Bride, and I made this card for it.
I wanted to capture the dress' folds in the card, so I staggered the depth of the strips.

The shoes look pale pink in the picture, so I lightly sponged around the sentiment in Pink Pirouette.
I also daubed the base card with Wink of Stella, but it doesn't show in the picture unfortunately.

Stamp: Bloomin' Marvelous
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Pink Pirouette, VersaMark
Accessories: Embossing Powder (Black), Lovely Lace Embossing Folder, 1" Square Punch, Sequins (clear), Wink of Stella Blush, (clear), Fine-Tip Glue Pen, Dimentionals

Thanks so much for visiting me!

PPA272 & PP267

I made a birthday card for a friend of mine. She loves pink, and things with a feminine style.
I was inspired by the Pals Paper Arts' sketch challenge, and the Paper Players' clean-and-simple challenge (leaves).
I tried an embossing resist technique for the first time, and I liked it very much.
Stamp: Lighthearted Leaves, Endless Birthday Wishes
Paper: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush
Ink: VersaMark, Tangelo Twist, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush
Accessories: Embossing Powder (Clear, White), Stamping Sponges, Cording Trim (gold), Metallics Sequin (gold), Dimentionals

RIC#93

The Runway Inspired Challenge #93 features Emilio de la Morena' Resort 2016.
My take on this is:
I chose this sentiment for this card because I thought the colorful fish somehow went well with the word, miracles.

PPA271: A Color Challenge

This week's Pals Paper Arts color challenge presents beautiful soft fall colors.
So my first plan was to create something fall-ish. After playing with a few ideas, I changed my mind. I thought it would be fun to make a card having nothing to do with fall but with the fall colors.
Here's my card:
I heat-embossed the background stamp image on the color panels.
I coated the daisies with Glossy Accents.
Stamp: A World of Thanks
Paper: Hello Honey, Old Olive, Soft Suede
Ink: VersaMark
Accessories: Die-namics Horizontal Stitched Stripes, Die-namics Upsy-Daisy, Embossing Powder (white), Glossy Accents

PP265: A Theme Challenge - #2

After I shared my project at The Paper Players on Sunday, I went to get some candies to put in the baskets.
Well, now I have a lot of candies, and there's no reason to make more treat bags/boxes.
Again, the theme challenge #265 is "Halloween".
I used DSP for the front, and decorated the boxes. This Halloween-themed DSP is retired, but it's one of my all time favorites.
Stamp: Wicked Cool
Paper: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, DSP Witches' Brew, Glimmer Paper (black)
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Fry Box Bigz L, Die-namics Cross Stitched Square STAX, Die-namics Spooky Scene, Dimentionals

PPA270: A Color Challenge

This week's PPA Color Challenge is:
I never thought of Sahara Sand going so well with Blackberry Bliss, so I wanted to use these colors as close together as possible.
Here's my card:
I tried using pattern embossed paper for the blocks and the strip, but I decided against it after all. Plain solid paper makes you focus more on the colors.
I added a couple of pearls, and layered the sentiment to give it dimension.
Stamp: Mosaic Madness
Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Sahara Sand, Always Artichoke, Whisper White Thick Cardsotck
Ink: Blackberry Bliss
Accessories: Mosaic Punch, Greetings Thinlits, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Pearl Basic Jewels, Mini Glue Dots, Dimentionals

PP264: A Sketch Challenge

My cards are usually clean and simple, so it's been a while since I last made a card like this with some layers.

This week's Paper Players' sketch challenge gave me the opportunity to make a layered card.

I layered a parchment butterfly over the Strawberry Slush one to make the color a little less popped. I also used the same color of cardstock as the card base (Island Indigo) for the lace at the bottom. That nicely blended the lace into the background.
Stamp: Made for You, Swiss Dots Background (mft)
Paper: Island Indigo, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White, Parchment Paper
Ink: Island Indigo
Accessories: Butterflies Thinlits, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, 5/8" Organza Ribbon, Something Borrowed Embellishments, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Mini Glue Dots, Dimentionals
